If a book is needed by another patron, a “hold” can be placed on the book. When the book is returned, the patron will be notified by mail or telephone. Reference books and audiovisual material are to be used only in the LRC.
Fines of $.25 a day, excluding weekends and college holidays, are charged for overdue books. Overdue notices are sent by mail or e-mail every two weeks.
If books are lost or damaged, recovery cost must be paid before additional books can be borrowed. All accounts with the LRC must be cleared at the end of the semester. Students will not be allowed to register for a new semester until all books are returned and all fines are paid.
Books and other materials for special assignments or required reading are placed “On Reserve” by the faculty so that they can be used by the greatest number of students during a limited period of time. Reserve materials must be requested at the circulation desk.
